Postdoc position available studying neurodegenerative disease

A postdoctoral research position is available in the Liachko lab at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Seattle, and affiliated with the University of Washington (http://depts.washington.edu/geront/directory/bios/liachko.html). We use model systems including C. elegans, mouse primary neurons, and cultured human cells to study the neurodegeneration seen in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and other aging related disorders.

We are seeking a motivated post-doctoral fellow who works well with others as part of a research team. The fellow will pursue the underlying causes of aging associated protein aggregation in neurodegenerative disease using primary neuron, cell culture, and/or transgenic C. elegans models.

Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. and/or M.D. within the last three years. Expertise in molecular biology and strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of genetics and/or neurobiology is preferred.
