A post-doc position is available in the department of Life Sciences at Imperial College London (South Kensington campus). Successful applicants will work in a newly established C. elegans group led by Dr. Michalis Barkoulas and investigate the developmental mechanisms and evolution of phenotypic robustness.
The Post-doc position is available initially for three years, with a starting date as of June 1st, 2014. The successful applicant will use the epithelial seam cells as a model and employ genetics, imaging and next-generation sequencing technologies to study developmental robustness. The applicant should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and have demonstrable ability to produce work of excellent quality. Candidates should have a strong background in developmental biology or evolutionary genetics. Familiarity with bioinformatics and sequencing data analysis would be a strong advantage. Previous experience in C. elegans genetics and techniques is preferred, but not required.
