A Postdoctoral position is available to study polyunsaturated fatty acids and
prostaglandins in C. elegans fertilization and development. We use C. elegans as a
simple in vivo model for investigating cell communication mechanisms. The focus is on
two important classes of hormones, protein hormones called MSPs and lipid hormones
called prostaglandins. Our major goals are to discover biological roles of these hormones
and to elucidate their molecular mechanisms of action. Please see www.mamillerlab.com
for more information.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. and should have expertise in molecular biology, genetics,
or biochemistry. Experience with C. elegans is desirable, but not necessary.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is a terrific place to conduct research, with
great colleagues, a friendly environment, and state of the art resources. Renovations to
the lab have just been completed. Birmingham is a charming and affordable city located
in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

Please send a CV and cover letter to Dr. Michael Miller at mamiller@uab.edu.
