Postdocs, single-cell analysis of embryogenesis; Sloan-Kettering, NYC;

The Bao lab at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center takes an interdisciplinary approach to address questions of developmental biology in C. elegans, using live imaging, computational analysis as well as molecular biology and genetics. In particular, we have developed tools to automatically track every cell through embryogenesis and assay gene expression, dynamics of molecular markers as well as cellular behaviors in individual cells at high temporal and spatial resolution.

Postdoc positions are open in two general areas:

  1. High throughput analysis of gene function and genetic networks at single-cell resolution. Experience in large-scale functional analysis, either computational or experimental, is appreciated.

  2. Molecular and cellular mechanisms of morphogenesis. For examples, see Dev Cell. 2010 Sep 14;19(3):402-12; http://www.cell.com/developmental-cell/retrieve/pii/S1534580710003898.
