Two positions are available immediately for hire - a new laboratory technician and postdoctoral researcher.
We are interested in understanding the genetic basis of behavioral and neuronally-controlled trait variation using high-throughput techniques. We use C. elegans as a model system to identify the causative genetic variants responsible for phenotypic variation and then mechanistically study how they change the underlying nervous system to modify behavior or development.
We use a combination of approaches - quantitative genetics, genomics, fluorescent based calcium imaging, classical genetics, and directed evolution experiments. Successful applicants should have experience in one or more of these.
