Postdoctoral Fellow Position Open; Laboratory of Anne Hart, Brown Univ

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Department of Neuroscience at Brown University. Under the mentorship of Dr. Anne Hart, the fellow primarily would focus on understanding the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disease using genetic and molecular approaches in C. elegans knock-in models. The fellow would also participate in collaborative studies to move results from C. elegans into other model systems and to address neurodegenerative mechanisms at the cellular and biochemical level.

This position in the Hart Laboratory provides the opportunity to join the collaborative scientists in the Brown community focused on understanding the nervous system and understanding neurodegenerative disease. Additionally, the position will allow for professional development, the opportunity to participate in collaborative work between research groups and across institutions, as well as other training and opportunities appropriate for a postdoctoral fellow.

Successful applicants will have strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Applications from individuals with prior experience with genetic model systems are especially welcome. But, highly motivated individuals with a Ph.D. degree in any relevant field are invited to apply. The ability to work independently, as well as the ability to work cooperatively with scientists and students from diverse backgrounds, is critical. Applicants should send their C.V., contact information for 3 references, and a cover letter by email to anne_hart@brown.edu
