The Alkema Lab is seeking on outstanding scientist for a Postdoc position in the Neurobiology Department at the University of Massachusetts Medical school in Worcester, MA. (http://profiles.umassmed.edu/profiles/display/133517)
We are studying how the nervous system orchestrates complex motor sequences using optogenetics, calcium imaging, behavioral analysis and genetics.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field. The ideal candidate has strong background in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or bioinformatics. Enthusiasm, the ability to work independently and function well with an outstanding group of researchers is key. The candidate will receive training in specific areas of research with the aim of progressing towards an independent career. The Neurobiology department at UMass provides excellent environment for postdoctoral training and collaborative opportunities with other outstanding C. elegans labs. Prior experience with C. elegans is not essential.
