A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Gal Haspel at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). The position is currently funded for two full years by the New Jersey Commission for Spinal Cord Research (NJCSCR) to study the robustness and malleability of the locomotion circuit during injury and regeneration in the nematode C. elegans. Planned experiments include laser axotomy, optical imaging and optogenetic control of neurons and muscle cells. Training also includes collaboration within the research group, department and other laboratories; Analyze and interpret data; Scientific writing of manuscripts and research proposals.
