Postdoctoral position in phenotypic plasticity

A postdoctoral position is available in the Schroeder lab at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Funding is available for 3 years, renewable on an annual basis. However, successful applicants will be expected to apply for independent funding.

We are interested in the molecular basis of phenotypic plasticity during the dauer stage (Schroeder Lab – Generating discoveries in nematode anatomy and biology) . We recently showed that a set of sensory neurons undergo profound and reversible remodeling during dauer (Schroeder et al., 2013). Additional projects in the lab are focused on stress-induced plasticity in plant-parasitic nematodes.

Successful applicants will have a PhD in the biological sciences. Experience working with C. elegans is desirable, but not required. Interested applicants should send a letter of research interests, CV, and contact information of 3 references to Nate Schroeder nes@illinois.edu
