Postdoctoral positions: C. elegans systems biology, EMBL/CRG, Barcelona

Postdoctoral positions are available at the EMBL/CRG Systems Biology Unit in Barcelona, Spain for either experimental or computational biologists.

Positions are available for either experimental or computational biologists in the laboratory of Ben Lehner (www.crg.es/ben_lehner). The lab is interested in the biology of complex multicellular animals. As an experimental system we are currently primarily using C. elegans, but the lab is a mixed computational and experimental environment. Current members of the lab have interests in protein, genetic and regulatory networks and their evolution, as well as in the systems analysis of development. Members of the lab are encouraged to develop their own research interests.

The EMBL/CRG Systems Biology Unit is located in a new outstanding interdisciplinary research institute, the Centre for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona and is affiliated to the European Molecular Biology Laboratory. The Unit is a unique focus for systems biology research in Europe and is supported by excellent core funding (e.g. see Science 312:1295). Research in the Unit spans the full range of systems biology, including computational biology and dynamic simulations, development of imaging technologies, synthetic biology, neuroscience, evolution and network biology. The institute is located in state-of-the-art facilities with a beautiful beachfront location in the centre of Barcelona - quite possibly the best view and location of any laboratory in the world (!).

The positions are suitable for researchers with an excellent PhD training and an outstanding publication record. Experience with C. elegans is an advantage, but certainly not necessary. Interested researchers should please send their CV together with a discussion of their research interests to ben.lehner@crg.es

The positions are fully funded for up to five years with a competitive salary.
