To start the new board I thought it was only fitting that the first reference figure should be DNA.
For a young ADULT HERMAPHRODITE comprising ~3000 cells, the following figure can be derived;
there will be approx. 2400 haploid cells
600 4 x haploid cells
600 haploid sperm (thanks to David Baillie for pointing this out)
Given the genome size (~100Mbp) and the number of base pairs per pg of DNA (978Mbp), then each young adult worm will have ~1ng of DNA (1000 worms per µg).
