Seeking nominees for the International Committee on Standardized Genetic Nomenclature for Mice. The Committee sets international standards and policies for nomenclature for mouse, including strains, genes, alleles, genome features (e.g., microRNA), cytogenetic markers, and other genetic and genomic elements for which standard nomenclature is considered essential. The Committee usually meets face-to-face once per year at the International Mammalian Genome Conference (IMGC) and once or twice on Zoom. There are occasionally other policy discussions that occur via email. Terms are for 5 years, with the possibility of re-election to one additional term. Please send nominations and any questions to nomen@jax.org. Current members are listed here: MGI-Current Members of the International Committee on Standardized Genetic Nomenclature for Mice.
