Request from the CGC for Videos/Multimedia Resources Promoting the Worm as an Animal Model

The CGC has been encouraged by NIH to have some short, well done videos/multimedia resources accessible on our website that communicate the benefits of using C. elegans as an animal model for research. Basically, educational advertisements for use of C. elegans – explanation clips related to a general area of research (neuroscience/human disease/genetics/development etc), lab tours, or worm demonstrations, etc. that tout the virtues of the worm and are accessible to a general audience. There is a possibility that NIH staff might request to use some of the resources (especially neuroscience related) on other sites, such as the Committee on Animals in Research website. If you or a colleague has, or would like to create, such an educational resource for the CGC to consider using, please contact us at cgc@umn.edu.

The following link by E. Dilger on BrainFacts.org was provided to illustrate the level of communication desired.
