Research software engineer looking for worm connectomics work

I am an experienced software engineer with Master’s degrees in both neuroscience and computer science. I’ve done everything from compiler design & implementation to real-time 3D graphics (including VR), but now am I looking to do something with my neuroscience background. In particular, I’m interested in helping scientists figure out how the nematode nervous system actually works, and how the functional parameters that must vary with behavior can be inferred from structural data. Such an effort involves quite a lot of code (image segmentation, modeling, visualization, etc.), and I would be great at that.

If your lab is doing connectomics or related work, please contact me and let’s see if there is anything I can do to super-charge your progress! I may be reached at: joe@strout.net
