The Miller Lab (Dana L. Miller, PI) in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Washington has an immediate opening for a research technician. We use genetic, molecular and biochemical approaches to elucidate novel physiological responses to low oxygen (hypoxia) and hydrogen sulfide. We are particularly interested in mechanisms that influence lifespan/aging and the regulation of animation. This is a super opportunity for a curious, motivated individual that is willing to commit two years to work in a fun, high-energy group. Job responsibilities include C. elegans strain maintenance, general lab upkeep and performing supervised and independent research. A working understanding of molecular genetics is required and previous experience with C. elegans is highly desired. For more information, see the Miller Lab webpage at bit.ly/miller-lab.
