Research Technician - Keene State College

The Pellettieri Lab in the Biology Department at Keene State College invites applications for a full-time, benefitted Research Technician position to support research on the molecular mechanisms of tissue regeneration in planarian flatworms (the lab is also planning a C. elegans project for those who prefer their worms round). The position will involve training and supervision of undergraduate research students, in addition to providing technical and organizational support for the lab.

The initial appointment will be for up to three years (minimum two-year commitment expected), with the possibility of renewal upon receipt of additional grant funding. Desired start by the end of August, 2017. Salary: $40,020, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off.

Keene State College is a public liberal arts college with approximately 4,000 students located in the scenic Monadnock region of Southern New Hampshire. The Biology Department offers a comprehensive education in the life sciences, with an emphasis on integrated lecture/lab classes and student research experiences. The Pellettieri Lab, supported by NIH and NSF funding, is conducting research on planarian regeneration and stem cell biology, and is also using planarians to investigate the basic science of rare, but potentially life-threatening diseases of heme biosynthesis called porphyrias (see https://elifesciences.org/content/5/e14175 for details).
