Research Technician position at Drexel University, Philadelphia

A research technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Tali Gidalevitz, located in the new Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building (http://www.drexel.edu/coas/research/pisb/) at Drexel University, Philadelphia. Our newly established laboratory uses C. elegans models and various genetic, molecular, and imaging approaches to study the regulation of protein folding homeostasis in development, protein conformation diseases, and aging. The position consists of both research and administrative work.

Qualifications:
A BS in biology or related field, previous laboratory experience, and strong interpersonal skills are required. Applicants must be highly motivated to perform both lab management tasks and bench work, well organized, and capable of multi-tasking. Experience with C. elegans is a plus.

Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities will include general lab management and upkeep, maintenance of C. elegans strains and other stocks and databases, and technical assistance with experiments. The optimal candidate will have a sound understanding of either genetic, biochemical, or molecular biology techniques and an ability to work as part of a team, and will be able to participate in supervised or independent research. Administrative responsibilities will include ordering, oversight of monthly accounting, and shipping reagents/materials.

Drexel University is located in University City neighborhood of Philadelphia, sharing campus with University of Pennsylvania and Wistar Institute.
