A research technician position is available in the Alkema laboratory at University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. We use the small nematode C. elegans to study how the nervous system controls behavior. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a Bachelor’s degree in biology or related sciences with interest in genetics and neurobiology and a strong desire to learn. Tasks include strain maintenance, PCR, molecular cloning, microinjections of nematodes, genetic experiments and ordering. Prior experience with C. elegans is a plus but not required.
