New Faculty Boot Camp
The New Faculty Boot Camp (NFBC) is designed for developmental biologists at a relatively early stage of their careers, primarily pre-tenure faculty within their first three years of starting their position, and advanced postdoctoral fellows about to enter their first academic position. Course participants will learn how to (1) plan for success; (2) develop as leaders; (3) manage time, projects, and people; (4) find and secure funding; and (5) grow as teachers and mentors.
The first session of the NFBC (session 0), will be held at the University of Illinois at Chicago, hosted by Ankur Saxena and colleagues, and facilitated by SDB Professional Development and Education Committee members. This in-person session is on July 19, 2023 from 12:30 PM - 6 PM CST. The capacity for the in-person session is limited to 30 participants.
