Seeking verified Mos1 insertion lines

Hi all,
I’m looking for a verified Mos strain with an insertion at the right end of Chrom III. The insertion should not be within a gene. Does anyone have such a strain?

Or, if you have a verified strain with an insertion at an end of another autosome, I might be interested as well. Thanks!

Thanks,
Regina

Dear Regina,
The person to contact is Laurent Segalat of the NemaGENETAG Consortium at segalat@cgmc.univ-lyon1.fr

I had a quick look in WormBase and wonder if IE12863 would suit your needs? This strain carries Mos insertion ttTi12863 at III: 13781234…13781235

Hi Mary Ann,
Thanks for your response! I was hoping to find a verified line that someone has been working with already. We’ve ordered multiple Mos strains from the Segalat lab, but unfortunately have only had ~50% success rate in verifying the Mos insertion. And since there are many Mos strains that would satisfy my criteria (insertion on the end of a chromosome, not intergenic) there is a good chance that someone in the community may already have a verified strain they would be willing to share. If I don’t get any positive responses, then I will order blindly through the Segalat lab.

(I also contacted the Segalat lab to ask if they had a list of verified alleles, but they do not.)

Hello

We’ve deposited a number of Mos+ strains at the CGC. For example, this one is to the right of unc-64:

Strain: IG114
Species: Caenorhabditis elegans
Genotype: frP2 III.
Description: Mos1 transposon insertion: T28A8 (at position 2841) acacctggtaTTAAGAAAAAAACCGAGTCCTCTCACCGTA. Mos1 sequence is in lowercase.

Have a look at the list at
