Position Title: Sequence variation and copy number control of rDNA repeats

Position Description: A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Henry Levin to study the rDNA repeats of Schizosaccharomyces pombe. With Nanopore sequencing the full rDNA content can be assembled and the copies with sequence variants studied. The project includes the study of copy number dynamics and the identification of mechanisms that control copy number.

We have a long-standing interest in how mobile elements impact the biology of the host and are now extending this work to examine the high copy number repeats of the rDNA locus. Interested candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or an M.D. and have a strong background in molecular genetics. Skills in bioinformatics are desirable. To apply submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, bibliography, and names of three references to:
