it’s known that laser ablation approach could be used to investigate the necessity of single cell in worm development. It would be so many thanks if anyone could provide information about its application on single cell stress induction, that is to exert stress onto certain single cell rather than destroy it.
Single-cell heat shock using a laser has been done in several systems, including C. elegans. See for example this 1993 paper and papers citing it, including this 2008 paper.
Lasers have also been used to cause direct physical injury (e.g. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18394898) or sever neurons (e.g. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20186917).
