Hello,
I plan to conduct a series of standard brood size assays using multi-well plates. Instead of manual counting, I am wondering if there is any integrated strain with a very strong fluorescence signal (GFP/RFP) in laid eggs under a stereomicroscope. Then I can simply take an image of the plate at low magnification and use ImageJ to conduct object counting. May I ask if anyone could please suggest a few strains to me? Thank you very much.

Do you want something that’s visible at all stages of embryogenesis? I might suggest this strain from John Murray’s group, which expresses mCherry from the earliest stages of embryogenesis to hatching. Not sure if it’s bright enough for the stereoscope at the early stages but it’s worth a shot.

Thanks Steve and Sanjib! Appreciated!
