Technician position in the Hall lab at Syracuse University

The Hall laboratory in the Department of Biology at Syracuse University is a molecular biology and genetics lab using the nematode C. elegans as a model system to understand how early environmental experiences program changes in adult behavior and physiology. A technician position is available starting August 27th to assist in setup and management of a new lab. Responsibilities include ordering equipment and supplies, organizing and maintaining worm and bacterial stocks, making basic lab consumables, presenting in lab meetings, some supervising of undergraduate workers, and conducting an independent research project. A B.S. in a biology related field is preferred, and at least 1 year molecular biology experience is required. Additional requirements are excellent organizational and communication skills, a desire to learn new scientific methods and ideas, and the ability to work independently.
