A laboratory technician position is immediately available in the Troemel lab at the University of California-San Diego. Applicants should have a B.S. degree in molecular and cellular biology or a related field, and one year of molecular biology laboratory experience. Previous training in C. elegans research is desirable, but not required. The Troemel lab works on host/pathogen interactions in C. elegans, with a particular focus on microsporidia infection in C. elegans. The major project this person would work on would be to develop transformation methods in microsporidia, and also help with lab management tasks.
