Hello! I am looking for a published study that characterizes the heat-sensitivity of C. elegans (or any other kind of animal) across the whole life cycle, from egg to adult. Are some stages more thermotolerant than others? Has such a study indeed been published? Thanks in advance for anyone who can point me to it.
Reason I’m asking: I did some experiments warming up snail embryos, and found that the very youngest (cleavage stages) are by far the most vulnerable to heat-stroke. I wonder if this is generally true of animals. C. elegans would be an obvious model system to find out about… but I haven’t managed to find the study I’m looking for. I’ll ask the fly people if they have anything.
