Verification of OP50 strain

Hi everyone,

does anyone of you know a good method to verify if your E. coli strain is OP50? I recently had some doubts that what I’m spreading on my plates is really E. coli and I used different selective media, which is rather inconvenient.
I also take it fresh from stock regularly but I’d prefer to have some primers for PCR or anything like that to have proof. I couldn’t find OP50 primers though, so I was wondering if anyone of you either has a method or knows a
publication where they mention primers.

I am not sure if it really helps, but you can find OP50 at the CGC.
