What we celebrate

Dear all,

maybe it’s not an appropriate topic for the Forum, but then that has never deterred me before now.

Here in Germany we are getting ready to open our presents and celebrate Christmas. For my Folks back home, well they have to wait a day before they do the same.

Wherever you are and whatever you celebrate at or near this time of year, I wish you all peace and time for contemplation. it’s sometimes easy to lose the point of what we do as a research community when faced with the enormity of the struggles we and others face in our everyday lives, but not for Long I hope.

Keep well and have a good start to 2015.

Steve

Great post idea Steve!

Wishing everyone a happy and safe holidays and…of course wishing everyone another year of great science!

Here’s something I just twisted:

T’was the night before Christmas, when all through the lab
Not a postdoc was blotting, not even with the new MAb.
The plates were parafilmed and put in the incubator with care,
Nobody making solutions and pushing on the scale, tare.

The water baths were switched off and no gels being run,
All the students at home drinking punch spiked with rum.
And the PI not in their office, and I in my PJs,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s laze.
