There will be a workshop on “Non-C. elegans Nematodes as Experimental Systems” at the upcoming 2025 International Worm Meeting at UC Davis. A growing number of labs are working on an increasingly diverse range of nematode genera and species, and we believe this will be an exciting opportunity for community members to discuss their work and raise awareness about the increasing feasibility of exploring a broader scope of nematode biology.
We are seeking volunteers to present short talks . Each speaker will draw on their experience to address a different technique essential to making a new nematode species into a productive experimental resource, covering topics such as culture conditions, cryopreservation, electron microscopy, forward genetics, genomics and informatics, reverse genetics, and transgenesis. The workshop will conclude with an open discussion among the participants and audience.
People interested in presenting should contact the workshop organizers via Chieh‑Hsiang (James) Tan chtan@caltech.edu no later than April 1st. Please provide a brief description of your proposed presentation including a title, the technique being addressed, and any additional information you think would be helpful. We aim to provide a schedule by April 15th.
