EMBO Workshop: The rules of the game – biophysical & molecular principles in cellular evolution

Oeiras, Portugal | 2–5 June 2026 | Hybrid format

Applications are now open for the EMBO Workshop “The rules of the game: biophysical & molecular principles in cellular evolution”, to be held in Oeiras (Portugal) from 2–5 June 2026.

The workshop will bring together researchers working at the interface of biological and statistical physics, molecular biology, and evolutionary cell biology to discuss fundamental principles shaping cellular evolution across scales.

Format and participation

  • Hybrid event with up to 100 in-person participants and unlimited virtual attendance

  • A significant number of oral presentation slots are available; early abstract submission is encouraged

Travel support

  • A substantial number of travel grants are available, thanks to support from EMBO and APS DBIO

  • Early-career researchers and trainees are strongly encouraged to apply for travel support during the application process
